No matter how long we’ve been officiating bereavement ceremonies for, we can always deepen our experience and enhance our offerings. That’s one of the reasons we’ve created the Beautiful Bereavement Ceremonies Retreat for Celebrants.

4pm Friday 28th February 2025
to
10am Monday 3rd March 2025
Eden Valley, Cumbria, England.

We keep our retreats deliberately small so you can get to know other attendees and enjoy a relaxed environment.

What To Expect

Join us for a joyful, creative, inspiring, powerful, deeply moving
and fully immersive weekend of experiential learning.

Be confident in creating beautiful bereavement ceremonies whether in a short-slot crematorium, council-run cemetery, natural burial ground or elsewhere.

Each session will leave you enriched and empowered in your celebrant work.

Facilitator: Veronika Robinson

Veronika has been a working celebrant for almost thirty years across all rites of passage. As an experienced event host, it is her pleasure to offer intimate retreats for celebrants who wish to develop their skills in a safe, calm and nurturing environment.

Veronika is the author of many books for celebrants including the popular Write That Eulogy; Funerals for Children; The Discrimination-free Celebrant and The Five Elements. She is also a certified Infant Loss Professional and has level 2 certification in Self-harm and Suicide Awareness and Prevention.

Co-Facilitator: Angela Maughan

Angela is a Community Minister within the Open Sanctuary. She came into ministry for her own personal growth. Ceremonies came a few years later. Angela is passionate about the subject of death, dying and funeral planning. She draws on her background as a complementary therapist to help other celebrants to be the best they can be.

Session Topic: Self-Care for Celebrants; Protecting you and your business
Co-Facilitator: Paul Robinson

Since he was 18, Paul’s life has revolved around his voice and other people’s – as an actor, singer, broadcaster, compère, voice and communication coach, celebrant and ventriloquist!!

Session Topic: Deep Nurture and Freedom for Your Voice. Experience how stillness and relaxation can help you connect with your clients by enhancing the way you speak.

From baby bereavements to interment of ashes, humorous ceremonies to tragic goodbyes, this retreat will honour the vicarious trauma celebrants face, and provide a safe place to explore meaningful ways to serve without suffering.

Whether you wish to improve your listening skills, vocal quality, create meaningful rituals or write compelling narrative, this retreat will offer a chance to refresh and renew while integrating beneficial CPD.
